Περίληψη

Η πανδημία, η οποία οφείλεται στον SARS-CoV-2 έφερε τους επαγγελματίες υγείας αντιμέτωπους με πολλές προκλήσεις, τόσο στο χώρο εργασίας, όσο και στην προσωπική τους ζωή. Σε όλο τον κόσμο, αλλά και στην Ελλάδα κλήθηκαν και καλούνται ακόμη να διαχειριστούν πρωτόγνωρες καταστάσεις που σχετίζονται με την εξάπλωση της νόσου, την. έλλειψη προσωπικού, τις αδυναμίες του συστήματος υγείας, τη  διαχείριση του στρες, τη λήψη κλινικών αποφάσεων, την κοινωνική προκατάληψη και το στιγματισμό, αλλά και τη λήψη απόφασης για τον εμβολιασμό κατά του ιού.

Σκοπός της παρούσας κριτικής ανασκόπησης ήταν μέσα από την περιγραφή των προκλήσεων που αντιμετωπίζουν οι επαγγελματίες υγείας κατά τη διάρκεια της πανδημίας COVID-19 και των αντιδράσεών τους, να διατυπωθούν προτάσεις και τεχνικές αυτοφροντίδας με στόχο την ενδυνάμωσή τους. Οι αντιδράσεις των επαγγελματιών υγείας στις προκλήσεις διαφέρουν, καθώς δεν εμφανίζουν όλοι τα ίδια επίπεδα στρες ή/και επαγγελματικής εξουθένωσης. Η ψυχολογική ενδυνάμωση ενισχύει την ψυχική ανθεκτικότητα, στο πλαίσιο της αυτοφροντίδας στην περίοδο της COVID-19, βελτιώνει την ποιότητα της παρεχόμενης φροντίδας, συμβάλλει στην προσωπική ανάπτυξη του επαγγελματία και ενισχύει την αίσθηση του ελέγχου για τη ζωή του. Είναι σημαντικό οι επαγγελματίες υγείας να μπορούν να δημιουργήσουν τη δική τους «ασπίδα» αυτοφροντίδας, η οποία θα τους θωρακίζει απέναντι στις δυσκολίες. Μελλοντικές συγχρονικές, αλλά και ποιοτικές μελέτες θα πρέπει να επικεντρωθούν στη μελέτη των διαταραχών του δευτερογενούς τραυματικού στρες, αλλά και της μετατραυματικής ανάπτυξης, ως αποτέλεσμα του βιώματος της πανδημίας, ώστε να εξαχθούν χρήσιμα συμπεράσματα για τις εμπειρίες των επαγγελματιών υγείας  και  να προταθούν μέτρα βελτίωσης της σωματικής και ψυχικής τους υγείας, κατά τη διάρκεια της πανδημίας, αλλά και μετά από αυτή.
